Wall street, where the business is operating in the city of New York, opportunities arise for employment. Both employers and employees have benefits when working together, hence the employer will only hire the employee once they evaluate and distinguish the qualification within the employee. In certain cases, employees are not selected after meeting the qualifications, thus an example of discrimination. The employer can discriminate for race, sex, gender, origin, or disability. According to the business dictionary, discrimination is illustrated as a â€Å"bias or prejudice resulting in denial of opportunity, or unfair treatment regarding selection, promotion, or transfer. Institutional discrimination is a â€Å"result of the actions of all or numerous people in an institutional and of their routine processes and policies†. In a work environment when discrimination occurs, it can be from an intentional and unintentional point of view. When working in an environment it is valuable to understand and reason before you have a conversation, as the listener may grasp it in a different way, therefore they can feel discriminated.
